Rhetorical question. Of course I am going to invade Russia. I will take Moscow and St. Petersburg and I will become the Emperor of all Europe. I already am, but I will be, too.

Why is the 20 year period before the present off limits for discussion? Is it too controversial?

What follows is a hypothesis I made from seeing 22 years of history unfold around me, and which was aided with tools that I learned from a wise history teacher.

Being a historian of the present, I think, is a potentially dangerous occupation. And it has been for all of presently surviving (as of this writing) history.

History is something that wars are fought over. History is written by the victors of these wars, and the opinions of the defeated are forgotten. Wars are a battle over the psychological state of the population, including their collective memory. Present history is thus an area of strong contention, usually murderously strong contention, contention at a level that many people are willing to die for.

However, once enough time has passed, the cares of the present will have migrated far enough away from the cares of their younger selves and of their ancestors such that those past concerns are no longer objects of murderously strong contention.

A question for all my friends who are generals and kings. I know the Great King has so much trouble holding on to Babylon and Egypt that he even once called to glorious Athens for aid. They sent me to help him out, and I had to march around the sandy wastes for years before they finally let me go home. Gaius Julius Caesar has been given the dictatorship for ten years, and his recent deeds and words have driven me into great doubt and concern whether his motives are purely inspired by love for the state and people of Rome or whether he conspires to drive us into the indignity of monarchy and tyranny. Is it more important to study history or historiography?

Say for example there was King Bob and his wife, Queen Jill. They had a daughter, Millie, who was unmarried.

Now, say Bob and Jill both die in a sudden accident.

If Millie was a boy, she'd be the undisputed first in line to take the throne, no questions asked. But Millie is not a boy.

Does Millie still inherit the throne before Uncle Jack? If Uncle Jack gets it, then my next question is if there is literally no other male family members, does Millie become the new monarch?

Also, what would the average job for a entry level worker be and how would the pay be?

My great grandmother spoke of lard sandwiches and soup lines during the great depression. When I think about what I would have done during the great depression to feed my family, I immediately think I would go hunting. Is there any evidence that the population of wildlife decreased or the sale of hunting guns increased due to families hunting to survive.

It seems like it would be a no brainer to protect the Belgian front or at least have spotters there but that wasn't the case. How could they not at least check to make sure?
