My friend Cyrus was had directions on his phone but of course he went and got himself killed, so now me and 10,000 of my buddies are stuck in the middle of Nowhere, Persia trying to get back to civilization.

Incidentally if anyone from the British government is listening, this is entirely hypothetical.

So this general from Carthage has gathered me and my buddies up and is marching us towards this giant boot or something, but there are these mountains in the way. Rather than just swimming to this thing, he wants me to go over the mountains! This guy is already crazy, apparently when he was 8 he swore his hatred of Roman Catholics or something like that. What should I expect in these mountains? Are the Celts who live there friendly? And do they have game?

Yo guys, I have a fuckin big problem. My architects prepared the most awesome plans for our pharaos tomb, it's gonna have fountains, statues, complex columns, balconies and all that jazz, it's gonna be the most elaborate mausoleum Nile has ever seen.
But the problem is some aliens from another planet every night steal great amounts of our rock and pile it in a desert in some sort of primitive shape, our mathematicians say a technical term is a pyramid I believe. They just bring the stone and pile it in a desert, every night all night long as if they were fuckin autistic, to the point that Kingdom now has a severe shortage of it.
And when asked why the hell are they doing this, aliens say - wait for it - it's a great piece of architecture and future generations are gonna call it a world wonder. I don't even... who'd be impressed by a pile of stones when we have statues, temples etc etc? I am clearly being trolled, but how am I to explain to Khufu why we won't have a proper place to bury him when his time comes??? He is not gonna start a war with aliens over stone, so he'll just blame me, and there goes my head, FML.

as the title asks... We know that the greeks knew the world was round and that Columbus was not seeking to find a way to india but rather to find land to colonize and if i recall "gift to his sons" but did the vikings also spread a knowledge of land to the east of europe? Is there any evidence of it?

I'd imagine back in in the 17th century this would have been unthinkable!

Hypothetically speaking of course

Despite a strong US and UK commitment, and an only tepid Soviet presence (I think, could be wrong, but IIRC Stalin had been against the war, and only supplied equipment and fighter pilots, while Mao was the one that basically fought the war on Kim’s behalf), they were pushed back and we ended up with that notorious stalemate. How exactly? What were the precise logistics of this failure, what was the turning point, and if there are dissenting views on this, what are they?
Sorry for my overly inquisitive tone. I’m just curious.

Is there any major reason why the Polynesians and Maori didn't use bows? As far as I can tell Polynesians probably had contact with bow wielding cultures like the Melanesians. So did Polynesians just not like bows as a tool and weapon?

Those dumb sand barbarians can't pose any real threat to me or my empire, can they?

As you yourselves have often certainly experienced, a warrior especially needs these three things--he must guard his person with strength, shrewdness and care; he must be free in his movements, and he must be quick to draw his sword. Then why do you blind yourselves with effeminate locks and trip yourselves up with long and full tunics, burying your tender, delicate hands in big cumbersome sleeves? Above all, there is that terrible insecurity of conscience, in spite of all your armor, since you have dared to undertake such a dangerous business on such slight and frivolous grounds. What else is the cause of wars and the root of disputes among you, except unreasonable flashes of anger, the thirst for empty glory, or the hankering after some earthly possessions? It certainly is not safe to kill or to be killed for such causes as these.
TL;DR: Why can't you turds be more like Hugh, Knight Of Christ And Master Of Christ's Militia and His Boys
Get your shit right with the Lord.
Edit: Source. Bernard of Clairvaux, later Saint Bernard was instrumental in the rise of the Templars as a force during the Crusades period. In 1128, at the Council of Troyes, he drafted what would become the Rule of the Knights Templar, which essentially codified the lifestyle of the Knights of the Temple of Solomon. The Rule would be heavily modified over the course of time.

Everybody knows a monarchy with a strong nobility is best but the peasants are getting uppidy with these ideas as 'freedom' and 'social mobility'. What is my best course of action, massacre them or introduce a nationalistic version of it?

So, my plot to depose Cicero is kinda failing right now. Can I salvage it? How can I convince the Senate that I am not a traitor.

So I'm trying to reform the army to make it more professional, but the liberals in Parliament don't like the fact that I have reduced the role of the Landwehr, and so won't pass the budget that will give me the necessary funds to enact my reforms. It's gotten so bad that the King is threatening to abdicate. Is there anyone that can help me overcome this crisis?

It seems like, although the US forces were well equipped and trained, they never focussed on invading the North and, for example, taking their capital. Didn't refraining from launching ground attacks on the North allow North Vietnam to supply their forces in the South?

My great great great grandmother told us we should never come out. But I'm 45 years old and I feel like life is passing me by. I think our great Lord Sirally, Praise be to His name, has actually stopped looking for us now.

I've got a few places planned already, like Zadar, but I have a massive group of poor assholes with me on this trip who are basically mooching off me. Anyone have any good places I can check out along the way?

Why did the early ottomans switch from single partner marriage as a way of gaining land and power to the system of using slaves concubines (harem) as a way to produce many heirs? Also when? I'm asking on behalf of my middle school SS teacher girlfriend in an effort to show her how cool this subreddit is (she loved the recent prostitute post). Lemme know any sources you might have!
For example she says Osman the first married a sheik's daughter in order to gain land (and she's pretty sure that he only married her)
