I was watching peaky blinders and my friend explained that thier haircut was a very popular hair cut at the time. Did it become popular because of the helmet styles during world war I? I've been doing research on Count von Monteglas (elector of Bavaria) in the Congress of Vienna, but I have not found much in regards to Bavaria's role. I know that they were able to retain most of their territories (since they turned on Napoleon in 1813), and that Monteglas worked solely for the gain of Bavaria and his own vision, but not much else. Any additional information or resources would be much appreciated.

I was taught that the sailors around the 1700's were chosen based on height, as they needed the room on ships. We were told that is why they were pretty much midgets compared to the locals, and why everyone (where Im from) is so much shorter today. Is this true?

Some commentators regarded RT as the "Pravda for millennials", but also that RT is not nearly as "hip" as Pravda was. Is there anyone out there who can tell me what native english speakers thought of Soviet propaganda during the cold war? I know of the "useful idiots" of the pre-ww2 era, but was it in any way fashionable to read Pravda in the post-war west? Was there any consumption of Soviet propaganda at all?

I understand buildings and monuments were plated with marble because it was such an expensive material, but were aqueducts in the city also plated with marble (for visual appeal)? Were they just left as bare bricks? Did aqueducts run through the city in underground pipes or did they pour into a basin from on high?
