A debate about the existence of the uear 0

A fellow and I have been debating about the existence of the year 0.

I believe that it does not exist, while my friend thinks the opposite.

My justification is that there is no such thing as a 0th year on a timeline.

He argues that time works much like a mathematical numberline, so when 1bc is over the next year would be 0.

Please give me a reasonable arguement that the year 0 doesn't exist. We have consulted our history teacher and he took my side. I have also used sources from the internet to prove my point but he still believes that these sources aren't credible enough.

The arguement is about the Gregorian Calendar and nothing else.

Please help me to prove this dumdum that he is wrong.

Fulgencio Batista was born in a United Fruit town, can this be linked to the Cuban revolution? I know they fucked Guatemala, but are they also had some dealings in Nicaragua right?

Information about Ancient Egyptian language.

I understand they now speak Arabic because of the Muslim conquests. But prior I have read that they spoke Coptic.

I am specifically interested in verifying what the word Black means in Ancient Egyptian language. I watched a lecture about Alchemy and the authority said Egypt was what the Greek called them, but that Egypt was actually called Khemet. The name Khemet was the word used for black or dark and was likely used because of the black soil that the Nile would flood the land with.

Are there any other good sources for this?

How were slaves truly treated in the U.S.?

I understand that slavery is morally abhorrent, i just doubt that it was all whips and beatings and starvation. That just seems like bad economic practice.

How did medieval people treat and respond to mental illness?

Obviously, there would not be much help and a great deal of stigma. I'm guessing most people's antidepressants were alchohol and the really mentally ill people were killed, stuffed away somewhere, or something.I'm just curious about the details. Thank you so much :)
