Greetings /r/AskHistorians! I am hereby requesting to be a flaired user in the subject of Vulcanology. In lieu of expert posts, I will submit to an AMA on the subject of volcanoes, volcano deities, ponn farr, time travel, and the brief flourishing of the spanakopita street cart industry in Herculaneum and why it may have caused the eruption of Vesuvius in 79AD.

I realize there is a paucity of primary sources on the matter (I'm only able to find one, and I'm not even sure if it's legit or if I should quit researching), but what are the origins of this myth? And how did it affect the culture and politics of this civilization? Wasn't a great American leader almost thrown out of power around that same era because one of his underlings try to touch "this"?

I'm asking for purely academic reasons, no need to send an Inquisitor to visit my Chaos altar shrine to the corpse god Emperor.
So uh, hypothetically, how much blood would someone need to spill to keep Khorne happy?

This marriage seems to have been the first of its kind, and quite frankly, a bit shocking. The idea it formed in peasant girls minds, that even they could be a queen (what a horrifying thought, the royal bloodlines so tainted!) seems to still pervade society today. What were the immediate implications of this marriage on everyday social life?

I've really gotten into the history of the Evangelion robots, but I'm having trouble understanding the first impact. If it's not against the rules, I could use some clarification on the second impact too.
Thanks.

It would totally make sense, the "Air Temple" research facilities would have made important military targets for the Fire Nation. What if the Earth Kingdom was gearing up to invade the Fire Nation and the Fire Nation discovered it and preemptively took out the Earth Kingdom's research facilities and advanced tech?

Why aren't students taught that Pearl Harbor was not the only base attacked by the Japanese on December 7? Japan's attack strategy is one that should be studied for it's logistical accuracy and genius, but why aren't the other two bases attacked mentioned in most historical texts?

Seeing how backspace is such a common convenience today, were there waste bins full of the "typo" versions of major documents? Or were people really that good at writing?

The Humans are for all practical purposes babies at intergalactic warfare and presence, while the Turians are an ancient spacefaring race with a strict military meritocracy.

As far as I can tell, the only source that mentions him are the Kingdom Hearts documents. But no other sources, not even ones from the places that he supposedly visited, seem to depict him at all. Is there any reason to believe he actually existed and wasn't just made up?

I mean, certainly an AI couldn't just make someone disappear! Especially when all it could really do was control systems like doors and power. Some have claimed that the crew's disappearance was due to the alleged alien technology, but I'm not sure I believe that.
