Here's to hoping I can find good answers to to questions I have about Sweden's past.

My main question is: how did Sweden avoid being invaded by the Nazis during WW2? Also, why was Norway invaded but not Sweden?

It seems fairly universal for developed countries to use the first name, last shared family name form of names. When did this come about, and when was it normalized?

I was reading the Wiki page about infantry support tanks and it said "For political reasons, the US Army was not permitted "tanks" in the years before World War II and so the tracked AFVs that it did develop were termed "Combat Cars" instead."

Some elaboration about these "political reasons" would be appreciated.

Was there any practical reason for the curved shape or was it purely aesthetic?

I've heard anecdotes that prior to the rise of commercial computing and personal computers/game systems which heavily targeted male consumers (In the 60s and 70s, I'd assume?) computer science was considered a "women's field," in the same sense as office management (i.e. the outcome would be a career comparable to that of a secretary).

I haven't been able to find anything other than anecdotes about this, so I'm curious, was this the case, or is this just one of those stories people tell to say "Isn't it wacky how things used to be turned upside down?"

(Note: I realize my phrasing here was rather loaded, I don't mean to imply that any profession ought to be dominated by one gender or another. Everyone ought to be encouraged to pursue their dreams and utilize their skills, and all fields should strive to welcome new voices)

Similar to the Napoleonic or Civil war. Close-packed formations of men in maybe 2 ranks.

I'm specifically referring to the ancient city of Rome and not the larger Roman Empire. Were there ever street gangs in Ancient Rome like the Bowery Boys and the Dead Rabbits of 19th century New York City or the Bloods and Crips of 20th century Los Angeles? If so, what was their culture like? Would try have been big enough to control any territories with relative autonomy or pose a threat to the Roman government?

I've read of the impressive speed differentials between ships of the line and clippers but have been unable to find any specifics on how these were exploited in combat. Was there a time when these much faster ships were brought to bear against traditional warships? Were there great limitations on their fighting potential due to weight concerns or size, or perhaps due to varied waterways? Finally, any reading recommendations on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

I don't really know anything on this, I think Constantinople just threw money at them (my source is the movie "Attila") Just wanting to know what "plans" He had for if he took it over, how he would have done it, and what where his means to doing so?
