Did it spark similar movements in any other countries?

Our research essay is centered around the cause & effect of a protest movement, the art created within the movement, and if it was effective. I picked the Black Power movement, as the fist is an iconic symbol, and it's an era of history I'm honestly ignorant about (history major). I'm also looking more into Emory Douglas and his art for The Black Panther (newspaper).

The book I'm mainly referencing is New Day In Babylon by William L. Van Deburg (professor of Afro-American studies at University of Wisconsin-Madison), and in the preface he states "But as all practicing historians surely understand, only by engaging in a project such as this (his book) does one fully appreciate how much an individual removed in time, place, ethnicity, or gender doesn't know- and perhaps can never know- about a social movement like Black Power." Almost as a warning, trying to understand the historical context as a 25y/o white, female student is a tad daunting, if not discouraging. Hence why I came here...

Any resources or personal insight is greatly appreciated.

I've always seen so many names of battles fought by the romans against different people, but what kind of battles had the greatest impact in the way the empire bacame known as not just an empire, but as the mighty Roman Empire?

I thought Austria controlled Hungary during the time of the HRE, but it seems as if Hungary is not included in the borders. Konigsberg from Prussia, which belonged to Prussia, is also not included.

Before and years after the Civil war, the Republicans were the one who help the poor. They supported big government ideas such as funding schools and providing aids to those who needs. On the other hand, Democrats were the one who were conservatives; did not support freedmen.

My question is, is there a historical event that reversed the roles of these parties?

Supposedly he said this while Justice Minister in 1957.

However, the sources I have found quoting it are rather dubious (wikipedia and conspiracy laden blog postings) and so I am left in doubt as to whether it was said at all. The few legitimate seeming publications I've seen point to it being quoted in Newsweek in 1998 but I can't find it there either. Anyone have any insight?

Hey Historians, My senior research seminar in U.S. History requires me to review the historiography of the causes of the American Civil War. I understand the amount of authors and works related to this is extensive. This is why I am asking if any of you can direct me on where to start. I only have the rest of the semester to research as much historiography on the causes of the ACW as I can, so I'm hoping someone can give me a list of essentials to understanding how Historians' views on the causes of the ACW have changed through the years. Who's works are absolutely essential in understanding this historiography and who is their opposition. I've started with Kenneth Stampp's "Causes of the Civil War" and Frank Towers' essay in the Journal of the Civil War Era, and am thinking of delving into Ulrich B. Phillips, Charles A Beard, David Potter, and David Blight. Any suggestions are appreciated!

As the title says, would an American citizen have been able to obtain a tourist visa to tour the Soviet Union during the Cold War, particularly post-Cuban Missile Crisis? If so, what would the process entail, and could they expect some serious questioning upon returning to the United States?

Specifically, when did humans as a species start putting noodles in soup, or where is the earliest evidence of noodles in soup anywhere? What else did those people eat, and why noodles?
