I'm curious to see how the planes have changed since then, and would like to see what parts they had and what those parts were called. Images with labels or numbered indices would be awesome, but even things like flying jargon of the time (in any language) would be really cool, too.

So I know the answers is 100 (should be, right?), but in one book I've seen number 80. How's that?

Pivotal victory by the Allies. What would history look like assuming that the D-Day Assault was a complete loss?

I understand that the cultural proximity between Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UK helped to maintain the monarchy in these states, but why is she still the head of state of 12 more states?

My understanding is that Vincent Van Gogh was a poor painter for his entire life. If he only sold one of his paintings during his life, then where were his many paintings stored?

I was watching this video with footage shot at the blockade of the Vondelstraat in early march 1980. At some point tanks were deployed to break the blockade, with apparent disregard for the people manning the blockade (25:05-25:26, 28:08). At 27:55 someone mentions that there is a law which allowed the major of Amsterdam to request the aid of the military, but no further details are given.
What law allowed the major to deploy such an overwhelming force? (In the video, I counted 3 or 4 army tanks and dozens of armoured vehicles from the military police.) What conditions had to be met before he could request military aid?

I personally want to say the current Republican party would be the answer, but it has changed a lot and I'm very sure I am wrong.

I thought it was interesting that French negotiator Talleyrand was the first to help raise Brazil up to the status of being a kingdom in 1815 but I don't know enough about the period or the Napoleonic wars to really make a judgement about how significant this little tidbit was. What are the main reasons for Brazilian independence?

Some Portuguese players have also done this (Eusebio springs to mind) but it seems almost universal in Brazil and almost unknown everywhere else.
Not only that, but Brazilians in other sports don't do it, or at least not to the same extent. Sometimes they shorten their names (Ayrton Senna da Silva, Nelson Piquet Souto Mayor) but don't seem usually to adopt a "stage name" in the same way.

The 60's saw a huge shift in opinions, culture, and laws in America. There seems to be this swift realigning of peoples attitudes as opposed to the previous thirty years from Great Depression to Korean War. What was the event or series of events that caused such change in a span of less than a decade? (Side note, I've been told it was a change from country first to me first attitude, could it really be described as that?)

I was playing assassin's creed and you have these random groups of Byzantines who pop up and try to overthrow the sultan. I know how historically inaccurate this game must be, but it had me wondering about the fall of the empire. Was it that sudden ? Were there any important conspiracies or rebellions to restore the Byzantine empire ? Thanks !
