Armenian tribes in ancient Greece

Hi everyone! I'm an Italian student (so I'm very sorry in advance for my bad English!) who is studying the habits of ancient populations and, since I also tarvel a lot, I'm very interested in the cultures of the places I visit. In particolary I'm very interested in the period of the Persian ampire and, because of studies of mine, in very primitive and ancient populations. At the moment I'm reading/studying Erodotus but I couldn't find any information about people living in the area of the nowdayday Armenian and Georgian territories. I know that in the present Georgia there was a population where Medea was living (it's Colchi in italian, don't know in wnglish). Does Erodotus talk about this people? I've read about people living in the nowdays Ukraine and Crimea and other people around there but nothing I was looking for! Thanks for help, still sorry about my bad english grammar, really!

Was the general population in the US aware that the fight against communism was more about the US maintaining strategic dominance rather than ideological and moral reasons?

It might seem like a loaded question so i'll just clarify that this is my understanding of the situation. If im wrong then please correct my assumption. I guess my question could be rephrased as "how effective was US propaganda?"

What happened to patents filed by Confederate states during succession?

I am doing legal research for a professor at my law school who is creating a database system of all international patenting law and a collection of any patents filed during the modern era. I am working on the Confederate states during the CSA, and am having trouble finding anything beyond the Act pertaining to patents. Does anyone know what happened to patents filed in the southern states during this era, and is there a database?

Amber Route and Roman Empire

If I'm not mistaken the price of amber around the year zero was very close to price of gold (if not greater). The main deposits of amber - from eastern coast of Poland to Finland. This location was very well known since Egiptian times. Why oh why Romans didn't do any solid efort to conquer this particular part of Europe? Surely taking over Britain (an island!) was not less challanging. Why the only World Power at the time didn't try to control the richest deposits of most expensive commodity???

Contact between Byzantium and China in the 11th Century.

I was reading a bit on the ancient contact between the Byzantine Empire (known to the Chinese as "Fu-lin") and Tang/Song China. I know that in the Late Roman Empire, several envoys were sent to the Far East with varied results, but with the loss of Egypt and Syria in the 600s, contact between the two Empires dwindled almost to a stand still. I believe the Chinese report something like "Da-Qin is no more, and has been replaced by Fu-lin" or something along those lines.

However, there is often a mention that a Byzantine envoy was sent in the 11th Century and reported by the Chinese sources. I am not aware of any reports of this in Byzantine sources, but it would be interesting to hear what the Chinese say about this envoy. Might anyone be able to elaborate on that?

Most people find farts pretty funny no matter what background they come from. Did ancient peoples also find farts hilarious? Is there some Sumerian tablet that mentions farts being funny? I find it interesting how ingrained in the human psyche this seems to be.
