Soo I recently saw this video on facebook, and just wanted to understand a bit more about why these two cultures from different hemispheres of the world had such similar architecture and cultures.
Check out the vid: https://www.facebook.com/EgyptologyTemple/videos/1581916055204546/?hc_ref=ARRWuG8rCftJFZ_3OUDedb4as1rouV15QS6ZAihGtUFjni2IV0J3Xd6y445OWwjFSAg

For instance, have people in the past made the argument "Don't institute policy X, because then the birth rate will drop."
Have there been any pre-20th century eras where birth rates were similarly low?

Side question: How is Lincoln viewed in other Western countries in the decades following his death (his legacy, speeches, etc.) ?

Sorry if it's really specific, an ancestor of mine went into a Mississippi infrantry regiment as a private, ending the war as a corporal, and I'm trying to get an idea of what he would've had on him.

As in the title, the heart symbol is pretty much universally understood to mean love/caring. How long has it been this way? Why was the heart the symbol that took the meaning of love?

I apologize if this isn't the right side, but I've tried to do some digging, but I can't find anything the aligns with her recall of the details.
The story goes that my great great grandmother had been tattooed with a cross to identify her as Christian, and that she destroyed most evidence of my great grandmother's birth because she was afraid she were going to be taken away for not being Muslim. My grandmother describes it as the reverse of the Crusades.
Thank you!

I have no knowledge of the region of Turkey, not that it was modern day Turkey. The exact city they immigrated to was Maiori on the Amalfi Coast directly between Salerno and Positano. I can’t seem to narrow down what might have been going on historically in these regions at this time. Looking for help, thank you!!

The earliest evidence for human activitiy on Cyprus dates back to about 10.000 BCE. Which I find to be incredibly late, considering that the earliest evidence for (pre-human, even) activity on the other big mediterranian island of Crete dates back to around 130.000 years ago. And even Australia, which seems to be quite remote has been settled since 40.000 years ago at the latest.
Compared to Crete, Cyprus is in the same region and it doesn't seem to be much further off shore. Compared to Australia, Cyprus is much closer to the origin of the species in Africa and also to the Middle East, where humans appear to have lived for a 100.000 years or so. Also it's closer to the next shore... so how come it was settled so late?

Abortion has been a pretty big issue in the United States and Roe v. Wade was a major event in its history, but what was its status in the Soviet Union at the time?

If the British coalition won the Seven Years war, and France handed large parts of North America to Britain, then why would France also give Louisiana to Spain, if they were allied in the war?

I have read that Hitler, having personal experience being temporarily blinded by this weapon made him against it. However, with the Nazi's particular hatred of Slavic people and the USSR, surprises me they never used it on the Eastern Front, at least to my knowledge.
