I'm guessing that the papers are radioactive through exposure to her, and so that would mean her actual body is even more radioactive still. Is this correct? If I took a Geiger counter to her grave, would it pick up higher than average radioactivity?

I've been reading Invisible Armies by Max Boot. It has a chapter on American Revolution and the rise of Ku Klux Klan. There he mentions that for some time KKK basically served as a sort of militant wing for the Democratic party. In the meantime the Republican party was founded by anti-slavery activists and had Lincoln as the first Republican president. Who played a large part in abolishing slavery and served as commander in chief for the Union side.

Now these days the Republican party seems to be the conservative one, and Democratic party is the more liberal one, which seems to be the polar opposite of how things were a 100 years ago. The Democratic party had massive support in the South, that consistently vote Republican now. There is also a racial divide between party supporters: Democratic is the party that the minorities vote for the most, despite the fact that they basically created KKK. While the Republicans are somewhat notorious for attracting various breeds of racists. So how come there was such a dramatic switcheroo between the two parties?

Is there an American precedent for either Trump or Sanders leaving their respective parties and winning a significant percentage of the popular vote?

I heard recently that the Vikings had verse based dissing battles with each other. What would this actually look like? Would there have been a sick beat being dropped? What would the Viking equivalent of a mic drop be?

In a recent episode of game of thrones, two sides were engaged in a close battle, one side was substantially larger than the other(3000 vs 6000), while the smaller army was preoccupied with a light infantry force sent by the larger army, the larger army used a large pike force to encircle and slowly advance and kill the force it had surrounded. So, my question is, are there any examples in history where one side used this "pike encirclement" tactic?

I've recently been reading about the French revolution and this topic hasn't appeared. I remember hearing something to the affect of the idea of revolution being sparked in the mind of the French by the success of the Americans some decade before, but so far this notion hasn't come up one way or the other. Is it known if there is any sort of correlation between the two events?

The two states both have small populations as well as similar-ish cultures and political leanings so i dont get why it was made into two states.

In my mind there is not much question why the South left--the tide was turning toward new territories not allowing slaves, and that was cemented by the election of a Republican president.

I'm less clear on the Union's position. They weren't opposed especially strongly to slavery. The South did seize Federal property in the form of forts within Southern territory. But it seems like the North could have negotiated a scenario where they were duly compensated and all the prisoners released.

Was it because the U.S. foresaw a rival nation as a competitor for new territory on the continent?

Students considering grad school are often advised to look for programs with faculty with research interests that match what the student hopes to study. Masters and PhD candidates are also expected to build a familiarity with the existing literature on their research topic.

Clearly, being able to find out who is doing what research is an important skill to have. So how do you find that information? Is scanning the past several years of journals the go-to method, or has academia.edu superseded it? What about Google scholar? Can Twitter be employed to find and follow interesting scholars?

Most importantly, do these resources require special techniques to maximize their effectiveness?

Seems like most every medieval movie has both armies in formation at one end of some big open field, then the other army would be at the other end. And before they'd start, which ever sides king or whoever would give some great speech to rile up everyone to win. Wondering how realistic that is and if so what battles that may have happened in. How did it turn out for that side?
