We can restrict our timeline and location to the New Kingdom Valley of the Kings, but my question is also primarily — how was it that nearly all Egyptian art and hieroglyphics look identical, or rather, what are the differences and 'styles' that we do notice?

How much do we know about how Egyptian carvings, drawings and tomb art was made?

I know that many ended up defecting from the USSR, but was there a notable amount that went the other way? Maybe out of communist sympathies or political pressure?

And why did the fragile marble copies survive while the durable bronze originals disappear?

Hey, I'm Dutch myself and there is something I don't get. Since the 1560s, the Dutch revolted against the Spanish rulers under the leadership of stadhouder William of Orange-Nassau (William the Silent). In 1581, the Dutch Staten-Generaal declared itself an independent country using the Act of Abjuration (Plakkaat van Verlaetinghe). They tried to find a new monarch, in Francis (Duke of Anjou) or Robert Dudley of Leicester.

The point I don't get: why not install William the Silent as monarch, if you're looking for someone in 1580?

Some years ago, I asked my history teacher in school. He said William was killed. That is true, but that took place in 1584, three years after the Act of Abjuration.

If my old history Teacher was correct where Vermont and New Hampshire are that part used to be Massachusetts, Why did this happen and why didn't they just form one big colony? Why did they split?

I was watching a BBC miniseries on the Great War called "Our World War" (would recommend) and one episode dwells on the morality of executing deserters. In the series, a suspected deserter is executed as an example even though the audience knows he is innocent. Would executing suspected deserters really be for the greater good when trying to win a war in wars WWI and earlier?

A question that has been on my mind recently is if there were ever soldiers deployed with spears who were also deployed with armor befitting a knight/man at arms (full plate). A spear as in one that you use on foot, instead of the lance. Did this ever happen, or was heavy armor only used by rich infantrymen who preferred other weapons on foot (e.g. anti-armor like maces and lucernes) and cavalrymen?

Thinking of some practices like segregated buses and schools, poll taxes, jury exclusions, "red lining", etc, how did the government know a person's race?

You see it in revolutionary war movies and pictures, where everyone lines up and takes turns firing. Where did this come from? How did you get others to agree to fight this way? Why was it disbanded?

The United States has history of lurid anti catholic propaganda claiming that convents were endless lesbian orgies. Were there any actual nunneries that had lots of sexually active nuns? Did the the urban legends originate from these real incidents, or were they developed separately? Were accusations of homosexuality ever leveled against monasteries? Was there any truth to these accusations?

Of course, never implemented, but surly in the planning stage, how did each side envision a future encounter w/their non-nucleur weapons (Tanks, Air-power, Sea) Through Germany, Poland again...?
