Is it true that most groups of humans before farming had leadership that did not get more wealth? When did the division of wealth/class begin, basically, to where you had people like emperors and kings and rulers?

Did they make any attempts to cease hostilities after the allies officially declared war? Such as after they conquered France and had the momentum in the war

I'm curious about the language and the semantics used.

From what I understand is that they were in many cases hand-picked for this unit. The SS leadership thought they would be particularly well-suited for the role of anti-partisan and rebellion suppression in mostly civilian areas.

My question being, has a unit such as this been formed in any other time period?

Before the events of the modern era, if you could rank China, Korea and Japan in terms of how rich or advanced they tended to be, what would it be? Naturally China would be the most powerful due to its size (just like today), but what about in terms of how advanced their economies were, how sophisticated the society and cultures were, education and scholarship, the architecture and arts, etc? Who was historically more advanced?

Right now Japan and South Korea are more advanced and sophisticated than China, but would it be correct to assume that before the modern era (e.g. Meiji restoration), both Japan and Korea were backwaters compared to China?

Pardon my English. So, I've heard many things about Japanese post-WWII but mostly mentioned the trials, the US occupation, the political consequences, the economy, and Japanese view about the war. But how was really the Japanese nationalism after the war? Did they still take pride of the Land of the Rising Sun over other nations? And how about other Japanese views on other things, not necessarily about the war? Did their view about traditional values or other old values change assuming their national pride were low after losing the war and it's influencing that?

I'm assuming this particularly after watching a Japanese animated movie set in the 1960 (during the months before 1960 Tokyo Olympics), in which the character said, "It seems that after the war, people are trying to get rid of the old and make way for the new."

It's just strange that they never talk about them and what they did in most schools.

I am reading Massie's Castles of Steel and am getting through the battle of Jutland. I also read Jellicoe's list of errors at the battle. It seems like nearly all of them are a complete failure to communicate, or communicate effectively. What happened there? I believe every substantial ship had a wireless communication system. Was there a substantial cost to using these? (Not necessarily financial, did it tie up the airwaves or something?) Were captains the only people allowed to initiate messages? Subsequently was this changed?

It just boggles my mind that no one seemed to communicate with each at in any way, I understand maybe wireless communications could be picked up by the enemy, but what about after the battle started?

For those that don't know the case of delphine la laurie was one where a woman tortured and killed her slaves. It's an old case and in the end she fled to France to avoid prosecution. She was caught with killing one slave I believe and her only punishment was a fine. Had she been prosecuted what punishment could they have actually given her?

I've been seeing some heated debate lately as to whether Japan surrendered because of the a-bombs dropped by the US, or because the entry of Russian forces into China signaled the unwillingness of Russia to negotiate favorable terms of surrender for Japan. What position is most commonly held by historians and why?
