Pretty much what title says. It seems as though with the passage of time, clothing became less and less complex (smaller, bent collars, small lapels).

Is there documentation on why these changes occurred and how they evolved into the modern style of suit?

Do we know when humans first made it to the western world? And how they got there?

Did places like the Eastern Roman Empire/Byzantium help the Christian kingdoms? Were there volunteers from other regions? How big was there influence?

I tried doing some Wiki digging, but all I can find out is the fact that these 21 Americans and 1 Briton decided to stay in communist China. I believe I heard on Radiolab that at the time the OSS was afraid that the communists had developed a form of brainwashing (which lead to our own efforts at brainwashing with Project MKUltra and such).

In hindsight that seems unlikely. But did we ever hear anything from these soldiers on why they did what they did?

Because modern scholarship has moved beyond the simplistic view of "barbarians ended the Western Roman Empire, and Europe plunged into the Dark Ages," how do we interpret the breakdown or dissolution of town life after the WRE fell, and why did it take so long for large towns and cities to re-emerge?

Their growth rate was shockingly low during the 1800's and early 1900's. France had a population of 29 million in 1795, and a population of 39 million in 1911. They went from being the most populous country in Europe, to being dwarfed by Russia and Germany. It's a bizarre demographic decline that I can't find an explanation for.

For example, I had read about a Japanese soldier who did not surrender until about the 1970s and reminded hiding in a jungle in SEA & they actually brought his CO to contact him and force him to lay down his arms.

Were there other similar instances in Europe or other parts of Asia? Did any German soldiers refuse to acknowledge the surrender and continued to fight in a guerrilla fashion and injure/kill unsuspecting allied soldiers?

Reading about it, it seems like there are conflicting reports about how much help the Rosenbergs actually were. Did they help the Soviet program, or was Julius' data useless?

I'm seeing more and more people are claiming that thousands of black soldiers fought for the confederacy. How accurate is this? I thought some were armed near the end of the war out of desperation, but that was about it.

I'm watching HBO's The Pacific right now, and it occurs to me that in every movie like this you essentially get two views of the platoon marching--either wideshots of them walking through a clearing or close ups on the face when they walk through forest. But presumably the marines did not only walk through convenient clearings, so how would they march through denser rainforest? And was marching formation a part of military doctrine or would each platoon march as they pleased?
