In Africa you have a bunch of Guineas (Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Equatorial Guinea) and in South America you have/had a bunch of Guianas (French, Dutch and British Guiana).

What's the reason behind the names? Always thought it related to location, but there's also Papua New Guinea in the East.

Everytime the movie Gladiator is mentioned it gets criticized for being inaccurate but I never see any exampel of these inaccuracies. So i'm asking you AskHistorians. In what ways is the movie inaccurate?

Rome, Venice, France, etc. Were all rich in the Middle Ages, but where did they store the money? Rome paid it's soldiers with a salary, but where would this money be kept at and how would then actually deliver it to the soldiers?

I'd be interested to know attitudes and how they changed from before the war and over the course of the war, if any actions were taken that would be considered a breach of neutrality, and how events in Ireland that may not be so well known internationally could have affected either of these.
