It seems kind of pointless to me to bomb Pearl Harbor but then just leave the Americans there to rebuild their fleet. The only purpose the attack served was to give a populace that was divided on whether to join the war a reason to join the war.

Did WWII rationing completely halt retail access to it for private use? Or was it readily available by the end of 1946?

I mean economic and military wise. Not the Treaty of Karlowitz.

Hi! So I've been wondering what the impact behind Gens and their application were. For example, I'm currently playing a game which is involved around Antiquity and the Western Roman Empire/Eastern Roman Empire and the name "Flavius" is SO prevalent in SO many names. Flavius Caesarius, Flavius Eutychanius, etc. Why is everyone named Flavius, as I understand it's a Gens but exactly what is that?

Also in names like Flavius Arcadius Augustus, did people really have only one name back then or was Flavius the last name? As I understand it, Augustus is the name taken on by emperors following Octavian.
