Was Chewbacca unable to speak English or did he choose not to learn?

What actual, documented proof is there of his linguistic prowess (or lack of)? Was it all a clever ploy to only speak 'Wookiee' and refuse to lower himself to speaking English? Or, was he in reality, just not smart enough to learn?

Why do the Hyrulians never seem to acknowledge the events of "the wand of gamelon" story? Is it taboo to bring it up?

In most other legends of zelda, it never seems the events of the wand of gamelon are referenced.

If the Brotherhood of Steel and the Enclave claim to both to be descendants of pre-War military forces, why have they always been hostile to one another?

Prior to the Chinese bombing, the founders of both the Brotherhood and the Enclave were part of the Department of Defense, with the exception of extraordinary circumstances where they were coerced by a single individual into cooperation, they have had extraordinary hostilities?

Was the Death Star an inside job?

There's no way some guy from the desert flew a plane into space station without being shot down. Proton torpedoes can't explode steel beams. It was the Empire, they planted explosives before the torpedoes hit.

Why did President Kimball withold troops from the Mojave Wasteland prior to the 2nd Battle of Hoover Dam?

Was it really because of political purposes? After I got out of the NCR Army I worked as a caravan escort, and I heard a lot of RUMINT from old army buddies that Kimball had entire battalions of Rangers "chasing ghosts" in the Baja. What's going on?

I can't help but think that if we had had more troops at the battle, it wouldn't have ended with a couple thousand Securitrons forcing the NCR to sign a new treaty at gun point and essentially formalizing House as the king of New Vegas, as well as cutting off the NCR from the waters of Lake Mead forever.

How accurate is Mel Brooks' "History of the World" in terms of choreography and lyrics? I'm particularly curious about the Catholic Church and its use of Esther Williams-esque synchronized swimming to inflict torture on potential heretics.

As stated in the title, I'd like to delve into the historicity of "The History of the World". Anyone's particular area of insight is welcome, but my specific inquiry is the use of choreography, mugging the camera and synchronized swimming to extract confessions from heretics.

Can anyone identify who the statue in the photo is a bust of?

I'm just curious who this is a statue of. In my opinion it looks like Alexander the Great, but I'm no history buff.

Were Commander Shepard's actions on Aratoht justified?

I know this is a controversial question, but I'm curious as to how academics see the events in Bahak in 2185. Hackett's autobiography presents it as a regrettable, but necessary mission. Batarian sources, especially Go'Drak's Downfall of the Hegemony, claim it was an Alliance covert ops, supposedly to weaken the Hegemony before the Reapers arrived.

Is there a consensus on Shepard's actions?

Was quality of life legitimately better in a sub-surface environment (as stated by Horatio Crustaceous in his infamous speech), or was this a desperate attempt to keep order in the underwater kingdom?

Sir Crustaceous stated in this speech that life was markedly improved when in an aquatic environment. Is this true, or a desperate attempt to keep Princess Ariele in power, thus securing his position in the royal family?

Is the One Ring allegorical for something? Was Baggins an assassin?

What do historians think of the revisionist interpretation that there was no magic, Sauron was assassinated when news of yet another catastrophic defeat reached his court, adding fuel to opponents to his expansionist policies that were already at boiling point - with low-morale troops infighting and all-, leading to his assassination. That the entire mythology was created to lend some legitimacy to Gondorians using a lowly assassin to thwart a rising power.
