What conditions led to the Bugs of Klendathu's unprovoked and evil assault on our home planet? What motivation did they have to lead us into a war in which our Heroic Mobile Infantry must fight and die?

The other day I heard a bug-loving fiend preaching treansonous peace, attempting to claim that the Bug Wars were started by humanity. While I of course reported him to the proper authorities for re-education, I fear my children may have been corrupted by his slanderous lies. How can I explain to my kids the wicked alien thoughts of the Bugs which led them to such a sick and demented assault upon our poor peace-loving planet?

What were the reasons behind the Zeon military's use of weapons of mass destruction during the opening weeks of the One Year War of UC0079?

As we all know, the first weeks of the One Year War saw both the Earth Federation and the Principality of Zeon lose half of their respective population. What radicalized the Zeon military so drastically that they felt compelled to attack Federation forces with nuclear and chemical weapons, and the Earth itself with a dropped colony?

Why were so many of East Asia's historical figures teenage girls?

I have been recently told by acquaintances that not only was the history of Mulan inspired by real facts, but that most of the military leaders of the Chinese Three Kingdoms and Japanese Sengoku periods were not the burly, hairy men that appear in official history, but actually fairly young and dainty females!

At first, I took it as revisionist nonsense -- these were, after all, the same people that tried to convince me that King Arthur had actually been a charming blonde -- but after a few searches, I found several educational games in which the player has the opportunity to simulate long conversations with these leaders between some of their most famous battles, and even become their most intimate confidant. Sadly, due to language barriers, I haven't been able to actually play any of these, so for now I can only sate my curiosity by asking you what forces led to this curious state of affairs. While the presence of female combatants in early militias was relatively common, one usually only became a military commander in extraordinary circumstances.

About the situation in Kashmir...

I have read the book of Dr. Ledze Plin about the history of the region, but can't really my head around it. He writes that he's interviewed several elders in writing it, but it barely shows...

Mavbe I'm just not a fan of his prose. In my view, the whole thing reads more like a drug-induced dream than a history of the region.

Did I miss something? Could anyone explain what it's about?

What social and economic factors limited the implementation of a national RoboCop program like the one in Detroit?

Surely the increase in public police perception, sharp decline in crime, and efficacy of an automated police force would be enough to convince the government to pursue the program, if not with OCP, then with some other contractor.

Why didn't the program catch on at a national level?

How do Historical Andraste scholars counter the claims of Andraste Mythicists?

This was partially covered by some questions in the FAQ, but there didn't seem to be a consensus. Basically, what bothers me is that there is no contemporary attestation of Andraste's early life, and accounts of her public career vary wildly depending on the chronicler's origin (inside or outside Tevinter). How do Historical Andraste scholars account for this? could she have been a composite figure? How sure are we that she actually composed all of the Chant of Light?

Could destruction of the first Death Star have been an inside job?

How could a single photon bomb penetrate hull plating made from Quadanium steel, then somehow make it to the core? Isn't it more likely that Palpatine placed some thermal detonation charges on vital structure points that were rigged to explode? This way, he would have had more of an excuse to divert resources to fight the Rebel Alliance. Are there any Imperial Engineering experts out there or maybe somebody with a basic degree in building Planetary Ore Extractors/Photon based weaponry?

Clearly the "facts" don't match up, and I think it is perhaps time we take a second look at this "attack."

Was Kuvira's Regime As Bad As the History Books Say It Was?

Kuvira and the Earth Empire are still relativly controversial, due in no small part to her war against Republic City. While I understand text books tend to paint her as a power hungry tyrant, I couldn't help but notice that while somewhat harsh, under her rule conditions in the former Earth Kingdom improved exponentially.

So I guess to what extent are the texts true about her rule true and what might have been colored by the biases of Republic City?
