For example they could've taken the subway system from London (which is probably completely wrong but I don't remember any of it and I couldn't find it on google)

As a side question, How was the government for West Germany and East Germany decided after the war.
It's my understanding that a lot of the French government were killed during the Nazi reign.

was the kind and queen of that time the most responsible because they ordered Columbus to take slaves and find gold using any means necessary, was it Columbus' men because they would actually do the killing, or was it more of the system of government at that time, which made it so Columbus would venture out for more wealth and power in the first place?

Me and some friends were talking about Jesus being invited to various dinners, and that got me thinking: What kinds of food would a 1st century AD Jew have eaten?
I know Jesus would have eaten bread and wine (that gets mentioned a lot) but what kinds? And what other foods? Also, several of his disciples were fishermen; where did they fish and what did they catch?

So while perusing the internets learning about the Peloponnesian War I came across the Battle of Tanagra:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Tanagra_%28426_BC%29
Wikipedia is the only place I could find that showed me the non-Athenian generals are Darmok and Jalad. The term "Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra" plays a large role in the Star Trek Next Gen Episode "Darmok".
My question is, is Wikipedia bullshitting me(as I assume it is)? or did Star Trek lift these guys straight from the pages(tablets?) of Greek history?

I've heard the argument made that if you line major world religions up with a common "start" date, they would roughly fall into a violent patch all at the same time. Does that hold true at all? Are there other predictors of religious extremism, i.e. political adoption, territorial threats, etc.?
