I hear it was humiliating and impossible to accept, but to me it seems fairly reasonable. What was the problem?

After looking online, everything I've found says the breakdown of ethnicities was 1% Twa, 85% Hutu and 14% Tutsi immediately before the genocide as well as in present day, and I haven't found anything about the period right after the genocide. It seems to me that the surviving Tutsi population would have to have bred prodigiously to get the Tutsi population back up to a level where it made up 14% of the population after 3/4 of them were killed.

This has always bothered me. How was there this weird, global near-consensus that kings/queens/shoguns/emperors are the way to go?

I was glancing over Delaunay's original paper on Delaunay triangles today, and was surprised to discover that even though he was a Russian mathematician publishing in 1934, the paper was in French! I know Russia has a long tradition of using French, but when did this stop for publishing papers?

What I'm attempting to ask is, Austria-Hungary didn't really do anything before the war (at least as far as I can tell) , so why did they play such a pivotal part in the starting on world war 1?

I'm a wealthy but not famous American in the 1870s frontier and I am beaten and robbed of all identifying objects. Luckily I drag myself to a small boom town. I have an estate and liquid assets back east. How long and easily will I be able to have access to my funds? Will I be able to get a room and food until the money arrives?

I'm studying AP World History from a reputed high school and we've learnt about the Aryan invasion of India. I've read in places (and this sub-reddit) that it's not really true and modern historians have rejected it. Is this the current consensus among historians? If so, why's it in all the textbooks I look at? My teacher even states it as fact. Do we just not know much about the Aryans?

There were significant Muslim communities in China, India, West Africa, and the Pacific Islands. Has a study been done on their accounts? What do their records of going on Haji and travelling to Mecca tell us? How were they received? How did they compare the Arab territories with their own?

When you look at old maps of the Middle East,the vast majority of what is now considered to be majority-Kurd, particular the bits now in Turkey, were once considered majority-Armenian. Did Kurds ever really have a homeland (and where was it?), or were they always a minority, similar to Jews or Roma today?

Wikipedia states it was sometime between the Spanish-American War and 1913. Why is there such a gap between speculative dates? Were there multiple sources claiming to have first created it around this period?

I believe it has to be one of these three. Or maybe even all of them at the same time.

What is the first time someone used the name Allies to discribe England, France and friends? I just read somewhere there are two book from that time that use the word Allies but I want to find the first mention.

Do all countries that fight on that side use the same name?

EDIT: I found a postcard that has the word Allies on it. It's from 1916. I'll try to get a link to it up here soon.

Most of what I've found is historical fiction and whilst it is enjoyable, I want something that has substance. Any recommendations, either books or historians?
