Hello Everyone!

So in short the title says it all..

The reason I'm asking is that I have taken quite a few theology classes as religion fascinates me, especially the historical aspect of it.

One thing I've asked myself is why I haven't read any other historical texts that acknowledges Jesus's existence.

I'm doing this for personal reasons and to further advance my understandings of the origin of "Jesus" and the history surrounding his life.

Did the Romans and Greeks view each other's gods to be the same gods with different names, or were they a different set of gods?

How different would it have been from funerals in the modern US?

How come tribes from Hawaii, Papa new guinea, Bahamas, Tonga, African, Australia or basically any tribe located on islands are so similar? This does not only have to do with skin colour, if i were to google and search from images from each tribe they would look very similar when it comes to their choice of clothing and makeup, even if they have never ever met eachother before.

Is there a course / video series / book series / documentary series / etc. that does a good overview of human history from the rise of civilization to modern times? Across the whole world. Preferably chronologically.

Just very general things like

• When and where certain civilizations existed
• The rise and fall of empires / dynasties
• Wars
• Key events
• When/where certain technologies were introduced
• Colonization
• When national borders changed
• What governments ruled
• etc.

I love reading about history, but sometimes I have a hard time putting specific time frames into context as far as what is going on in the world at that time.

Apparently much of the music we have retained from the Baroque/Classical/Romantic period was written to be performed for or by a generally upper-class audience on expensive instruments. How much of this music would have been familiar to and/or played by commoners?
Would you catch a Hampton hooper humming Haydn? A Swiss smith singing Strauss? A Bavarian blue-collar band borrowing chamber music from Bach?

Why didn't this institution evolve somewhere else like France or Spain first?

Did they grow out of historical gangs, such as mafias and mobs?

After about 4 feet, my vision becomes extremely blurred. I've never thought twice about it, just throw on some glasses or contacts. Nevertheless, this would be an almost crippling disability without the corrective eye-wear. How did people with bad eye sight function in society before this invention? Was it considered a form of near-blindness? Or did bad eye sight become prevalent in the modern world?

I'm hoping I can get suggestions on good books on two different subjects: The Spanish Civil War and on how planned economies use to run, specifically GOSPLAN but I'll take anything interesting. I've already read Anthony Beevor's book The Battle for Spain.

From what I understand British intelligence did a pretty good job during World War II but are there any instances where they had big failures with noticeable consequences?

Wikipedia says the British lost 24 helicopters while the Argentinians lost 25. Did the British losses at sea make up some of their lost Helicopters or were the destroyed Helicopters involved in interdiction/resupply/casualty evacuation during the ground battles in the East Falkland.

Also were the aircraft destroyed by other aircraft or MANPADs or other ground based anti aircraft weapons?
