How effective was the U.S. tank destroyer doctrine during World War II?

For most of the war, American armored doctrine (at least nominally) was focused on infantry support, leaving the job of countering enemy armor to fast, hard-hitting tank destroyers; how effective was this in practice? Would it have been a better choice, in retrospect, to have pursued a more "modern" armored doctrine, one that focused more on tank-to-tank combat?

How widly used was the war axe by the roman army?

I imagine it had some more practical applications aside from combat but from what I know the primary weapon of most legionaires from early ones to later all used a form of short sword, most images of auxilia also have them use either swords or spears.

Was there a cultural or perhaps practical reason why axes were fairly uncommon?

Reasons such as most Infantry Rome fought were unarmored/lightly armored making a sword more practical?

For how long has "denialism" been a thing? Did people in other centuries deny important historical events ever occurred?

Obviously the most notable modern example is holocaust denial or extreme Japanese nationalists that deny the Nanking Massacre occurred. On a lower level, you have websites like InfoWars which rush to claim that virtually every tragedy is staged by the US government and didn't actually occur.

Is this a strictly modern phenomenon, or has denialism been something which has always had it's "place" in society? Are there any notable historical examples of denialist movements akin to holocaust denial existing throughout history?

Questions about the Babylonians

First of all, Jesus spoke Aramaic because of the Babylonians ruling judea in 587 BC. Therefore the language that Jesus spoke was the same as the language of Baghdad and Iran! Did Jesus regard himself as a Babylonian or as a roman or as a judean?

Second of all: why isnt the history (rise and fall) of Babylon not viewed as a big deal? I know nothing about it. Did they or their culture go extinct due to Islam?

Finally, I mentioned Iran was speaking Aramaic which is a Semitic language and not an indoneuropean one. We know this is correct because of the Ashoka rock inscriptions.

What was Babylonias relation with Persia, Rome, and it's acceptance of Christianity? Did they introduce any religions like the other major empires?
