I came across some references to how Tango early on in the late 19th/ early 20th century was a mix of African, indigenous, Spanish and Western European (ie the accordeon) musical influences. I'm also aware that there was an important African slave population in Argentina which then heavily diminished and partly replaced through European immigration over the 20th century, but would have had major cultural impact.

Would be glad to learn in more detail about how Tango originated; and/or about its later popularisation.

Just curious about this, I recently read a comment where they stated that there were no “good Germans” just going along with the war.

More specifically, the early Italian fascist movement and it's ties to anarchism, Marxism and conservative liberal forces.

Countries like Andorra, Liechtenstein, Monaco or San Marino remained independent even though they were surrounded by bigger, more powerful countries. How did they managed to avoid being annexed, when many big countries were occupied for centuries? Isn’t it’s reasonable to think that their big neighbours could’ve invaded and occupied them in a matter of days? Are there any resources further discovering this matter?

Hello, I have been looking for books (available on Amazon) in regards to 15th Century England in regards to culture, politics, warfare, civilian life, and et cetera. I have heard that the medieval series by Joseph and Frances Gies are instructive, and I might check them out, but I was wondering if there might be any suggestions from here that may help me. Eventually I plan on researching most of Europe and the Middle East during this time period and beyond as well, but my main focus is 15th Century England for now. Further more, what did the party split look like during The Progressive Era? What exactly were the contentious issues the parties fought about? I'm especially curious about the Republicans, seeing as they don't seem to have had many ideological convictions between the time of Roosevelt and Nixon?

We know that fascists like too mythologize the past, And origins of different ethnicities, so when I started hearing about French fascism in the 20's-40's I wondered, what part of French history would they mythologize?, And what would they consider be the National origin of France? Any particular disagreements between French fascist/Far-right politicans, on the Origin of France and it's people?

Compared to modern tree cover how much has been lost? I have heard that almost all of Europe's primeval forests have been largely destroyed, aside from a few small areas of them in Eastern Europe. When did this destruction take place? For more specific times, how forested was Europe and the Mediterranean around roughly 500 AD 1000 AD and 1500 AD? Thank you

On another thread I realized I know absolutely nothing of indigenous philosophy. What questions were of greatest concern to them? How similar/different was their questioning, reasoning, etc. to European philosophers before New World discovery?

A big issue with PTSD in troops was frequent combat rotations. My understanding of dane vikings is they raided frequently. But is there any documentation of what they felt after?
