Hi all, Hitler's Circle of Evil is a show on Netflix in Australia about the rise of the Nazis but in particular focuses on Hitlers close circle of henchmen. Just a question about its accuracy. The show presents the original party, just before the Nuremberg Laws, as being anti Semitic, but certainly not intent on mass murder and destruction. Hilter and the others seem to be keen on stopping communism and the introduction of protectionist policies that do affect Jewish businesses. The deep hatred of Jews and desire to remove Jews from Germany is presented as being introduced by Goebbels. It portrays Goebbels as essentially brain washing Hitler. How accurate is this? Was Hitler really not that concerned with Jews in the beginning?
My other question is regarding two other members of the inner circle. Himmler in the beginning is show as being disgusted by street brutality against Jews such as the Kristallnacht. Also, Hermann Göring is portrayed as being against any anti semitic laws at all as he has no issues with Jews (his grandfather was a Jew). It also shows him as someone who despises Goebbels and is much more interested in establishing a strong airforce. How accurate are these two portrayals? Thanks! It's a great show by the way, and recommend it to anyone interested in the topic.

I have seen uncited references to Welsh or English longbowmen using falchions, axes, poleaxes, and pikes for close range combat. I'm seeking a more comprehensive understanding of the weapons carried by these medieval bowmen.

Was the coming of Christ that big an event it was decided universally to between historians? If so at what time? I'm quite curious why historical events are read in this way and not based on any other event instead. How it came to be universally reguarded that way as well.

Who was a Scottish man raised in Lithuania. What's up with that? And what's with the large amount of German last names one can find for other generals? Like Wittgenstein and von Benningsen?
And why did the Russian court love French so much and when did this die off?

Needless to say all the advantages we now have to learn a new language in the 21st Century, my question is mainly focused on how did explorers from the past (whether it be really far away or not-so far away from our current timeline) learn new languages (from foreign/close cultures). Thanks!

Would there be prejudice, stares, confrontation? My friend said that if he could travel back in time it would be to the middle ages and I was wondering how society would welcome me.

Would it be rare for younger nobles to search for personal wealth in the First Crusade or would that be reserved for later crusades- and if so, which crusade had the largest amount of individuals seeking personal advancement? How common was death during the First Crusade on the journey to Jerusalem?

It seems like the top answers on every post here are extremely long. It would take me 10+ minutes to read the insanely long essays written. Why do people do this if the answer can be achieved in one short paragraph? They talk about things not relating to the question. And even those which could help.... it’s not worth to waste a good portion of my day reading one reply. And it wasn’t worth a good portion of your day to write it.

While reading Forrest McDonald's "Colliding With the Past", McDonald stated that the triangular trade was a myth because "it never happened, if only because the slave trade in the British Empire was a monopoly of the Royal Africa Company created by Charles II", but I don't fully follow this. I've been taught the triangular trade for most of my life, so could some context to this statement be given?

Is there any proof that the native people of the Americas (North or South) found artifacts on their shores from the Western Worlds? I can imagine that over the course of time, some artifacts from ship wrecks or general pollution might’ve shown up on the coasts of America..
