This scene always bothers me, because I know the term had been around for a while at this point. But would it have been pervasive enough to reach the Scottish Highlands?

Pretty much the title, I'm curious as to how the effect it had on Germany affected Hitler's ability to gain control.

How has the majority-view on this debate shifted over time?
Most of my friends seem to have grown up on State's Rights, while today most appear to say it's slavery.

In the commentery one of the production people said the scaled it down because they wanted it to resemble an old west town (regardless of the fact Atlantic City is in New Jersey)

Would an average Roman citizen know that while it was sunset in Rome, it was still a few hours before sunset in Spain?
When was the earliest that this was common knowledge?

I've read how Louis XIV attained absolutism but why weren't these methods available to the Stuart kings in the 1600s? Louis builds a palace... they could build a palace. Louis builds a bureaucracy... they could build a bureaucracy.
I guess my question really is, were these options available to them and they just didn't see the solution? Or were the circumstances so different such that these opportunities weren't available, or even if they were, wouldn't have been effective regardless?

I know that the official language was Greek, and I'm pretty sure that they considered themselves proper citizens of Byzantium. But I feel like there would still be some fractions that would prefer to establish themselves as a fully independent nation.

During the reign of Emperor Charles V was Spain technically part of the Holy Roman Empire or still a separate entity.

The HBO documentary was Undefire: The Untold Story of Pfc. Tony Vaccaro (which was incredibly good). In it, one of the commentators claimed that almost all post-combat photos in history, until WWII, were staged. This includes iconic photos from Matthew Brady and Robert Capa. How true is this claim?

I was thinking about this and I started looking up more info on Roman wars. I know the Romans were a very dominant force but why did they engage in these battles so much more often than the Kingdoms and Duchies of the medieval era? Was it mainly because of christians not wanting to kill their fellow christians which made siege warfare the name of the game? Or were defenses not really good enough among the Germanic, Asian, and African tribes that the Romans pretty much could storm the place?

The jungles in Vietnam and Korea back during the wars posed a problem to U.S soldiers because of Guerilla Attacks. Yet during both wars the use of napalm was Common. So why didn't they use the napalm to burn down the Jungles? They used napalm on Enemy Sites and Camps to clear them out so It can't be the "Oh but they will be burned alive" excuse. Any reasons as to why this was not used?

For example there is a long list of extinct or critically endangered aboriginal languages. Is there some particular traditions or ceremonies or anything that was wiped out because of the holocaust?

In comparison to regions like post-classical feudal Europe how well or how poor is our lower class in comparison to the high class. In the big picture is it safer to assume resources will continue up the social ladder or are we headed towards a more level playing feild. When/where were the two extremes (big vs small class separation) most obvious.

If all the liquids I drink were beer and cheap wine, my doctor would very reasonably assure me that I would die from liver failure within a year or two. Beyond that, there are all the other symptoms of alcoholism and literally constant inebriation. I just don't see how there could be an adult that manages to fight wars or take care of accounting or lead a sermon if they're drunk literally 24/7.

I know the modern rap/hip-hop genre has roots in the 70s, but I'm curious if there is a specific "first" song that music historians can point to that a layman would hear and clearly recognize as rap/hip-hop.

"Letters to Lily" is definitely a simplified book, but Macfarlane doesn't provide any sources or context. To what extent is this accurate? How did the ban on firearms work out in the Islamic states, China and Japan? How was it enforced? Thanks!

Who was Hitler being compared to when he was coming to/in power? Is there just this long line of "[Person people think is terrible] is the next [Past person people think is terrible]"?
Please note that there was no statement of opinion in this question. I don't mean to cause trouble, I just can't ask the question without having people fill in the blanks.
