I keep finding mention about how LBJ "delivered" the south to JFK and Richard Daley handing Chicago and thereby Illinois to the Democrats. This is a serious question about food history, posed in cocktail party format. Did Jackie Kennedy Onassis ever eat a taco? Today they are totally ubiquitous as both downscale and upscale cuisine, "authentic" and inauthentic. But would a Northeastern, fine-dining type such as her have ever eaten one, even once? We're trying to figure out just how different our contemporary diet is from one not so long ago.
