I understand that they were a rather unpopular ruler, but I do not quite grasp WHY. I understand that their gender nonconformity played a large role, but is that the sole reason? I am having difficulty finding answers.

Under the Treaty of Versailles, Germany was essentially disarmed. Did this mean that all those in the armed forces found themselves without a job? If so, was there any assistance to former military members to help them find a job?

It's a very moving verse in my humble opinion, but something about it seems off to me. In English, it has perfect form and rhyme, and fits our idea of attractive language. However if you translate it back to the Latin, it has seems to have none of these qualities. The verse ceases to rhyme, and seems to become a bit cumbersome linguistically.

Is this a function of my poor translation, or simply my poor understanding of ancient Latin linguistic structure? Is there something else at play here? Was the verse as we know it "creatively translated" at one point in order to make it more elegant by English standards? I'm very curious about this.

I am making a graphic novel set in the late 14th century. Now I've looked up loads of funeral effigies and artists depictions of 14th century clothing etc. I have looked up what buildings were built when and architecture of the day. But what I cannot seem to find is the church's perspective on the Great Pestilence. Did they think it was the End Times, did they think God broke his promise to Noah?

What resources can I look up to find out more about the perspective of clergy in this time period?

What were they going to do with the men who had landed already (by air and sea) and what would they have done after that?

Also, how would the war have proceeded from there?

I have seen movies and footage In documentaries and such were the soldiers have things like an M16,M60,M1,M4,Grenade/Rocket launchers,and what have you.Though I always wondered how it was determined who got what.Was It given to them randomly? Did they chose? Was it chosen by their superiors? Was it assigned to them based on ability and proficiency with the various weapons? Or was it some other factor?

During the Second World war, along with other nations and resistance groups, there were multiple attempts by German military officials to assassinate Hitler, all of which obviously failed. What I'm wondering is: what was their vision as to why Hitler needed to die and what did they plan to do with the Third Reich after killing him?

So..this thought process comes from watching a bridge of spies.

If my memory serves me correctly, the allies and soviets come crashing down on germany and meet in the middle, defeating them.

They split germany in half, and berlin (which is in east germany).

1. Why were there so many people fleeing east berlin to go to the west? from their point of view, aren't the west the bad guys as well? they used nukes too!

2. In the movie (not sure if this applies to history), the border guards between east and west berlin were german. That can't be right, in real life were they soviet? If they were german, wouldn't they help them get to the "better" side?

I know saying "lisp" isn't the appropriate term but it's the best way of describing it. Spain is the only Spanish-speaking country that speaks Castilian, which is the Spanish spoken with what sounds like a lisp. Was it something they developed or something they always had?

I imagine that the discipline and patriotism(?) would have drawn some praise or appreciation before the war and especially before the realization of the atrocities committed.

I realize this may be broad or over simplified but feel free to take what you want to explain or assumed perspective.

Something about this has always interested me; if tap loading was supposedly so dang fast and awesome, why wasn't everyone tap loading? I'm assuming it's quite dangerous, but that could be wrong. Can someone explain this to me?
