Why did Americans and Canadians largely maintain their European (aka white) features, while Mexico, central, and much of South America developed a "Latin American" appearance/ethnicity?

Obviously, not everyone from Mexico southward fits the ethnic expectation (I suppose? Is that offensive?), but many do. Why don't the people of former Spanish colonies resemble Spaniards the way many Americans resemble the English, Germans, Italians, etc, that settled there?

What were the main factors leading to the beginning of the civil war that is still ongoing in Burma? Not current grievances and platforms of the various groups but the initial causes for the conflict in the early 20th century.

I apologize if this is not the place or the question is too broad but I've been attempting to understand what caused the civil war to erupt in Burma after independence. From what I understand the government turned into a dictatorship in the late 50s so a rebellion towards dictatorship almost explains itself but I'm having trouble finding decent resources that explain what caused the various groups to take up arms before a dictatorship came into power. On what scale did infighting and signs of a potential civil war before independence take place or did it largely take place after Burma became an independent nation. What were the main reasons behind the infighting? Were the various ethnic groups that formed armed groups to fight the Burmese national army ever supportive of a unified Burmese nation (whether under colonial rule or not)? Or did they always oppose the concept of a state encompassing all of the territory that constitutes Burma? Did the Burmese national government ever consider the people of these various ethnic groups citizens of Burma or did it hope to incorporate their land while refusing citizenship to their populations? Have the various armed groups fighting on behalf of these minorities committed human rights abuses against civilian populations? Or have they largely targeted the military while human rights abuses against civilians were mostly inflicted by the Burmese national military?

Again I apologize if this is not the right sub or my questions are too broad or simply worded improperly. Put simply I have very little understanding of what caused the civil war in the first place and would like to. Thank you all in advance!

Did Cleopatra and her time in ancient Egypt know why/if the Giza monuments were there?

I just learned the fact that Cleopatra lived closer to the invention of the iPhone than she did the construction of the pyramids. I also know that the pyramids were only heavily excavated in the late 19th century. Did Egyptians/Romans in Cleopatra's time know/care about the pyramids?

What are some primary sources related to ancient Mediterranean magic?

So I'm looking for primary sources from the ancient world (literature, inscriptions, artifacts, etc.) related to "magic," "occult," or other related topics (although I realize that these can be hard to define topics), ideally with translations or commentary in English. I'm mainly interested in "magic" from pre-Christian pagan beliefs in Europe and the near-east. So that I don't come off as too lazy, I've done a bit of basic research myself. Here are some texts I've found so far:

Any other suggestions?

Was Jesus clumsy?

Let's try to keep all religious discussion out of this.

It is mentioned in several old texts that Jesus was being taught the trade of craftsman, or builder, by his father as was jewish tradition.

It is also mentioned that Jesus wasn't exactly the best apprentice around, as he was clumsy with worldly material.

Now of course a lot of these old texts are not from the bible, and could easily be myths. Let's look at this in a purely historic viewpoint.

Does it mention anywhere else in history that Jesus was clumsy or bad at tasks that use the body, hand-eye coordination etc...?

Who made the bombs for the IRA?

Was it just one man? Or numerous men? I'm also curious as to how they got bombs into mainland England. And one last thing why were the South Armagh brigade so hard to deal with for the British army, I heard a lot about them and how British army forces wouldn't even enter certain villages.

Where did the black American army units fight in the Second World War?

I know that the army became desegregated during the Korean War... That would mean that the army was segregated during the Second World War.

Did black units fight along side white units during the Normandy invasion? Or the battle of the bulge? Or in the pacific theatre?

Were the black units kept in certain campaigns during the war or were they spread out?

As the Manhattan Project progressed, and the first few tests were conducted successfully, was any consideration given to releasing some information about the project in an effort to demoralize the Japanese?

Surely there were rumors that the Americans were developing something truly awful. Why didn't the Truman administration release a video reel of a successful test? Seems like at least a thought someone would have entertained, so I'm sure there were good reasons for not doing so, but curious if anyone has looked into this.

Thanks!
