On its 800th anniversary, could we discuss the importance of this?

Not the spies and defectors, but planted people that lived a normal life, etc, that were waiting orders to get activated.

We use the term prehistoric a lot in relation to our ancestors. at what point does human history begin, and what really defines history?

While i haven't read Texas's constitution I've heard that it has the power to divide itself into five states at any given time. I was wondering if any other states have a unique or interesting clause within their constitution that might separate them from the norm or just other states.

I'm not entirely sure if this sub is the right place to ask but since each constitution was ratified past the 20 or so years required i believe I'm fine? Mods? Yes?, Hopefully..

Curious to know about old-fashioned and/or antiquated technologies and tactics used during WWII that were surprisingly effective.

I've read that in countries near the west they would watch western tv e.g west german tv in the GDR, or austrian tv in czechoslovakia and hungary. Was lots of it Soviet produced? What were your or your families experiences?

Was the lack of a checks and balance system where no one (or no one is able to gain national exposure, a large forum to criticize) one factor which caused governments to tow-the-line, to continue massive frontal assaults that any normal human could immediately realize were insane? Were there any countries that pulled out early citing the massacre of their own soldiers?

I looked this up a while ago (on my own personal hunt for why we use money), and I read something along the lines of "Farmer Jim wants two cows. Farmer Alice is only selling cows for two warthogs a piece. Farmer Jim lives in a place where warthogs don't live, so he can't buy the cows. But, with money, instead of Farmer Jim looking around the world for warthogs, he can just give Farmer Alice 200$ and get the cow."

Basically, itwas saying that when we traded, you had to have what the person wanted to trade you for, but once we got money, you were able to, I don't know, be more flexible? Have more ways to get that money? I don't exactly remember, but that's the gist of it.

Anyway, yes, I know this is a rather broad question, but I'm hoping someone can give me a little insight.

I'm trying to figure out: how relevant was anarchism as a political movement? (I'm thinking primarily of the period of time between when Proudhon was writing in the mid-19th century and the Russian Revolution in 1917.) Was it ever seen by large numbers of people as an alternative to whatever the current state of politics was at the time?

From my parents anecdotes, picking up hitchhikers was a common thing in the 60s and 70s. I know many people have had traveled huge distances hitching rides by the side of the road. Now, it's practically unheard of. How did hitchhiking have such a fall from grace?

We were talking about Egypt in my cultural geography class and got me thinking.

Also, same question but can anyone claim that they're a descendent from the emperors of Rome or has to much time passed for both to tell?
