Was it always intended to be marketed as a civilian vehicle as well as a military vehicle? Were there any special regulations, rules, or classifications that needed to be created or tweaked to allow for it to be a valid mode of transport for the general public? How was it pitched/advertised to the U.S. consumer?

Having read The Right Stuff, my parents thought a cool present for christmas would be a Fisher Space Pen. (It's awesome). The book explained that writing in space had been a significant problem for everybody. The Americans spent a lot of money making a space pen, whilst the Russians used pencils. How come?

I mean in modern days, Germany is an extremely powerful country in the form of trade, politics, and all that but Austria and Hungary aren't nearly as powerful. If they both had war guilt and an obligation for reparations, why isn't Austria a big diplomatic player like Germany is?

In History class we watched a video about the American Civil War, and in some of the reenactments the video depicted, there was always a man carrying a flag with a horn on his belt that charged into battle. He was not armed or anything. What was the point of this person, and why were they not armed?

I read that when going on raids, vikings would bring a Sami Shaman (who were respected in many Scandinavian societies) with them for any magic related needs, are there any credible sources of this?

Is it at all possible to have a decent night sleep in a heavy suit of plate armour? What about other types of armour (mail, plate mail, etc.). Also, how much care did they required (cleaning, oiling, etc.)? Lastly, I found minimal information on boiled leather. Were these widespread? How efficient is a suit of boiled leather versus typical medieval weapons (swords, battle axes, arrows, spears, etc.)?

Considering that the Old Testament explicitly defines the jewish people as "the chosen", and that it is an integral part of the Bible according to many christian denominations, and that Christ was born jewish, how did they regard the scriptures?

Things like adzes, hafted axes, hafted knives, bows, etc. I am more interested in what the Chickasaw might have used. Obviously they would use flint for blades, etc, but what about woods for handles and what kind of materials would they use to bind it all together?

It appears that a lot of Allied commanders such as Bradley had personal issues with Patton as a General. Why did he earn this reputation?

Pretty straight forward question. How did people feel towards breastfeeding children in a public setting. Was it seen as indecent exposure by people (espacially the church). Or was it just viewed as normal and not really frowned uppon as it is today?

Surely they put on a guise of "This is for your own protection," right? If so, what were their official terms?
Sources in German are okay by me.

I've been trying to learn more about the history of the ME and can't find any defining reason for the founding of Israel...
So far I've read that it was basically a combination of Zionists who believed they needed to return to their rightful holy land, the British who wanted the 'Jewish problem' out of Europe and others who thought a people who had been so brutalized during the holocaust needed their own homeland.
I'd really like to understand this issue more and I appreciate any insight!
Thanks!

Were there any native brewing or fermenting traditions or techniques at all?
Edit: I forgot to mention, I'm asking specifically about North American peoples. Especially those in the central and eastern parts of the continent like the plains and Appalatian areas. I found lots of examples from Central America and South America.

Also, can anyone shed some light on the history of counterparts to the US nuclear football in other nuclear capable states (does someone follow Putin or Xi Jinping around with something similar)?

Sorry this isn't an event-specific question, more to do with research methods. I read through the rules, and it didn't say anything about not making posts like this. And I could really use the help!
Let's say you were a Professor focusing on the early 14th century Europe - specifically Medieval Wales. You want to purchase a larger map of the region from that time period to display for your class. Where would you go? What would you do? Are there any Medieval historians out there who might be able to assist?
Backstory: I'm an assistant on an upcoming cable series focusing on that time period. The writers would like maps printed to reference in the room, and aside from google image (Which has only been moderately helpful) I don't know where to turn. Easy to find old maps of Europe, but that specific time period is proving elusive.
Thanks a lot for your help!
