How was homosexuality viewed in the Mongolian Empire?

The Mongolian Empire was surprisingly tolerant to most religions and ethnic groups, as long as you paid tribune to the Khan of the time of course.

So how was homosexuality viewed in the Empire throughout its incarnation? Was it tolerated or was it punished?

I know LGBT rights and acceptance has been a more modern development but given the tolerance of the Mongolians during their reign it's something I've been curious about.

In 1001 Arabian Nights, Dunyazad lays under the bed of King Shahrayar and Shahrazad when they have sex, despite knowing Dunyazad is there. What is the cultural context of this?

It just seems odd to have someone under the bed and to have sex above them, and then chat with Dunyazad as she sits under the bed. There is no explanation for this. What was the significance of this action?

EDIT: in the context of the story, Shahrazad asks the king if she can say good-bye to her sister, Dunyazad before she is put to death. The King agrees, Dunyazad i summoned, the sisters say good-bye, Dunyazad goes under the bed, the king and Shahrazad have sex, then Dunyazad asks if Shahrazad will tell them a story. The king agrees, and Shahrazad tells both of them a story while Dunyazad is under the bed. Repeat this every night for 1001 nights.

Is it true that US politicians knew about Iraq's plan to invade Kuwait, and never issued any warning or condemnation?

That basically how my Dad told it to me--the US made it seem like they considered Iraq and Kuwait's relationship to be entirely their affair, but then used it as a reason for war. What statements did US politicians make about the tensions before the war?

Please help identify the figures in this painting.

http://imgur.com/YfAQxpT

Hi all! A friend of mine recently purchased this oil painting in Georgia (not the state), and while we were able to identify a decent number of the figures, we were stuck on quite a few. I figured this would be a great place to get this riddle solved. Hope it fits with what this sub is interested in. Thanks.

Also, the painting is an oil, seems to be an original, and is not signed. Any help on who might have made this or the like would also be appreciated, although unexpected.
