By "introduce", I mean the entire "sponsorship" process, up to the point where it is given to the House and Senate for discussion/votes.

Is there any given reason why a citizen can't write a bill and present it to Congress themselves?

Has this rule been in effect for the entirety of the U.S.'s history? If not, where did it originate and what was the reasoning behind it?

I just found out about the Wild Hunt tonight, and it really sounds fascinating. I've been trying to find information about it, and I thought /r/AskHistorians might know a few things. I'm interested in finding good resources online that are free, and maybe scholarly papers that aren't blocked by a paywall. I can't afford to buy any books, except for that I am purchasing Phantom Armies of the Night: The Wild Hunt and the Ghostly Processions of the Undead by Claude Lecouteux. It got some good reviews on Amazon.

Anything you can tell me about the history, origins, manifestations, ect, about the Wild Hunt would be greatly appreciated!

I remember being told in school about the Inuit never really engaging in tribe on tribe warfare, is that accurate? Wars in the context of other native american tribes anyway.

If so, why didn't they migrate there? I saw a somewhat similar question asked and it said they didn't move south because of abundant food sources in their current climate, however, that thread didn't address whether they knew there was a more comfortable climate to the south.

What would spark people to attack and kill their own brutal dictators? I know that people like Mussolini, Gaddafi, Saddam and Ceausescu were dictators who were brutally slaughtered, but has history shown that the people themselves could topple and kill their dictator or would they require foreign assistance? In addition, how plausible would it be for dictators such as Assad, KJU or Putin to be killed by their own people?

Hi, so I'm doing a group presentation on the progressive era.

The "prompt" is whether the progressive era was a liberal movement or a conservative one.

Sadly, I got assigned to support the conservative side in our presentation.

I was wondering how this era can be considered conservative? I asked in other subreddits and websites, but I usually get chastised for even suggesting this time period was conservative and get lectured on how progressivism is inherently liberal.

It just seems so counter intuitive to me, if communism viewed every one as equals, shouldn't they have wanted to hear everyones opinions? In the same train of thought, why was voting for who ran the "party" not part of the system either?

As far as I know both countries had similar regimes and roles during the war, and the economic situation in Spain after the Spanish Civil War was as penurious as other European countries.

I've heard the rumors of having to kill puppies or castrate orphans. Is their is any validity to any of these brutal training tactics? Or just allied propaganda?

I've been reading some Korean War-era comic books, and the term "gyrene" (in a couple of different spellings) has come up. The only online reference I can find is Urban Dictionary, which lists gyrene as a portmanteau of 'GI' and 'Marine'. Is this accurate?

How did battlefields work, historically? Was the ancient battlefield a mutually agreed upon location, kind of like the modern playing field where contests were decided? I ask in regards to a statement I heard recently that stated how the modern battlefield has moved into urbanity.
