This is one of those topics that comes up time and time again when flying online WW2 flight sims. People debate whether it should be anything from 150m to 500m, depending on the plane. What's the historical truth?

I have read a few things about Constantine the Great. I noticed that after the Battle on the Milvian Bridge he started giving priviliges to Christians. Would this have been a political move, or is there reason to belief he was actually a Christian?

I'm referring to the 传国玺 ('Heirloom Seal of the Realm' or 'Imperial Seal'). How important was it for the Emperor to possess; was it vital for legitimacy?

Especially in large armies and formation fighting. it seems the advantages of having a "spike" or some sort of psedo weapon linked to your shield are much greater than having none yet most of the shields Ive seen online and in museums are plain and flat.

The common places where we can find spiked or bladed shields are in fiction or video games.

Also, where during the revolution would they have gotten the uniforms?

Disclaimer: I'm mostly making observations based on impressions I've gathered from films about this era (P&P and the like) and books that briefly touch on this era (Bill Bryson). So if my impressions are completely off base, I'd love to hear how!

It seems that 18th century England had a much larger nonworking, affluent class of people who seemed to contribute little in the way of tangible, economic benefit like goods or services. While many of these people contributed in forming a pretty excellent society and certainly contributed artistically, I'm confused as to how this system could reasonably be supported.

Is there any evidence about studies prior to Darwin's origin of species?

It seems like an awfully arbitrary way to define the end of an era.
