Were they jailed? Was there a system of integration and acceptance? Did many move to England?
Furthermore, was there a revival of Loyalist fervor at the start of the War of 1812?

I have some conjecture on Louis Philippe II as to why he supported the Jacobins. I believe he thought that the ideas of the Jacobins and the revolution would lead to a constitutional monarchy with him as the head. How plausible do you think this motivation is? Honestly, I think his support of the Jacobins was not something that was consistent with his own self-interest without hoping to gain the throne.

Hello. I'm interested in knowing if there is a good book/article recommendation on the life of common people in Byzantine Empire, particularly around the Near East?
Something like the family, the kinship, life among the poors, jobs and population, etc. I've seen a lot on Ancient Rome, but I find it a bit hard for Late Antiquity Byzantine. I appreciate any help!

It must have been obvious that they were losing. Were they just trying to tire out the Allies enough to get a conditional surrender?

There are many intricate themes, symbols and references carved/placed into the architecture of Gothic cathedrals, but many of the concepts involved seem like they would be inaccessible to most of the populace prior to widespread printing of scripture. How comprehensive was Average Joe's understanding of the themes explored in the carvings and sculptural reliefs, architecture, and biblical reference of Gothic cathedrals?

Was there extreme patriotism? Any primary sources or examples or direct competition between the western and the eastern world?

I heard they weren't used for purging food during a feast. If they weren't used for that, than what were they used for?

When did people start washing their clothes after each use? I assume it was quite recent, but was it before most homes had a washing machine or did the affordability of a washing machine enable us to wash our clothes on a daily basis? Were only underwear and socks washed after each use back then, or were they used for a week then washed etc?
Did people of the 1800s or even early 1900s have lots of different clothes like we do now? And were they expensive compared to the stuff we get now days?
Did people mostly all dress the same? Men wearing a type of suit and women wearing a dress?

Previously on Monday Mysteries
This week we'll be taking a look at diseases and medicines of your era.
Throughout history, people have been getting sick or otherwise indisposed (read: stabbed with pointy objects). People also seem to have always enjoyed those events not leading to death, and medicine has been an integral part of life to all eras. What are some of the more interesting diseases that were diagnosed in your era, and how were they cured? This could be anything from plagues to the vapours, from creative treatments for angina to something to help keep you awake. Who pioneered the first surgeries? How did they do it? What were medical implements like? How did people believe disease and medicine worked? What was the most prevalent or infamous disease? This question is wide open to all interpretations, and I'm looking forward to what you've got!

With Passover approaching, I was curious as to whether the Ancient Egyptians wrote their own account about the Exodus of the Israelites. Everything I've ever learned is from the Torah and the story of Passover told at our Seder every year. Thanks for your answers.

What did the people exiled to Siberia do? Did the state get some benefit out of them being there, other then they weren't back where they came from? Was there industry in Siberia that needed more people?
Any time period is okay. I just want some broad knowledge of the subject.

Currently reading a book on Roman stoic philosophers and the author describes "white collar slaves" who were teachers, administrators etc. This seems radically different from our current idea of slavery. Were Roman slaves workers in exchange for food and board? Is this just another way of participating in an economy different from modern capitalism?

I originally assumed it was an abbreviation of Athens, but I don't think the Greek spelling of Athens contains an epsilon.
