when did the general public of car owners start listening to radio in their cars, and when did it first become available?

I think I remember learning that the people in the main round-up countries (as in, the countries where they rounded people up and put them on trains to the camps) knew that those people were taken and were not coming back, and that they kind of turned a blind eye to it. But did they know the extent of what was going on? Were they just afraid to notice it?

Bonus question: did any of the other powers have an inkling as to what was going on?

Im not asking to insight an argument. I know after WW2 a lot of new countries were formed in the redevision of europe, based on cultural, political and religous reasons. But I dont understand how the idea of the state of Israel came about.

I am wondering about the ratings of the ship and the enlisted personnel of the army? I know that there were a lot of people who were basically criminals were pressed into service, and that discipline was brutal, but what about the navy? Were they mostly fishermen and dock workers?
