The 2nd amendment was passed in 1789 granting the right to bear arms. What sorts of laws existed in the rest of the world at that time?

This one has always never made sense to me. Why would Lin Biao ruin everything when Mao was already in failing health and he was the chosen successor? It's always something I found bizarre.
I've heard it suggested, that it was just another paranoid plot by Mao, but to me that doesn't make any sense as well as Lin and Mao were very close allies, saw eye to eye, Mao was quite distressed and depressed afterwards and it severely damaged the credibility of Mao and the Cultural Revolution, which Lin Biao embodied in the eyes of the public.
The whole Lin Biao coup is just so bizarre.

More land? More respect for Germany? I know the Anti-Semitism of Nazi Germany wasn't as fervent yet. Which begs the question of what The German Empire would have demanded if it won, along with other after effects.

Did they use any for the more "primitive states"/tribes or did they need a reason at all? Did they even conduct any sort of advanced diplomacy with tribes?

I've always wondered; with the countries mentioned above having the people practicing Islam being the majority of the Religions, how did that come to be in comparison with India where they had the Mughal Dynasty that was Muslim for over two centuries only have Muslims today in India there as a minority?

The point 4 of the manifest of the NSDAP it is written:
Only Germans may be citizens of the Germany. Only those of the German races may be members of the nation, their religion does not matter. No Jew may be a citizen
What would happen if a person, who had german ancestry converted to Judaism? Is he still not considered as citizen

The Wikipedia says there were also people held in the death camp for being homosexuals, but it doesn't mention what happened to them. From what I remember the Soviets weren't any kinder to gay people, but I might be misremembering. So what happened to the gay people?

From reading this article here, everything looked great between the two countries. Other than invading Poland with Russia, was there anything else that caused friction between the two nations?

So I was bored tonight and ended up watching the first episode of Ken Burn's The Civil War, which I loved when I first saw it years ago and now found it frustratingly shallow in its history. What are some good, comprehensive books that deal with the war, the lead up, and the consequences? Some searches on here show that there's little love for Shelby Foote's books, so I was wondering if there was something more contemporary. Thanks!

Were they still as nationalist as during the start? What was their quality of life and social status like? Did they turn to wanting "liberation" from the Nazi government?

I've always read about spears being all-around superior weapons to swords, from requiring less metal, generally being designed for stabbing which was superior for penetrating armor and more usable in formation, having greater reach, and being very effective against a cavalry charge.
Obviously the Romans knew what a spear was and had used them in battle, prior to the Marian reforms spear wielding infantry made up a significant portion of a Roman legion, and were the more wealthy/experienced troops.
However, the bulk of the army before and after the Marion reforms were equipped with gladii instead. Why would Rome opt to equip it's armies with a short stabbing sword as opposed to short spears like the Triarii used?

I don't remember exact details and don't have any specific sources, but I remember reading before that one of the Native American tribes/nations (the Iroquois I think) had a big influence on what the government and processes that the Founding Fathers started. How true is this? Did it have more influence than Greco-Roman democratic ideas?
