What was life like for civilians that remained in Stalingrad during its siege?

There is a post from a few months ago that touched on the subject, but it didn't receive a very in-depth response. What did the civilians that lived through the bombings an invasion of Stalingrad do in day to day life? How did they gain access to food and water? Did they live in camps or the buildings that survived the bombings?

Films that depict early 20th century Russian/Soviet village life?

I've read a few books about daily life of the peasant at the turn of the century and was wondering if there were any films that could help me visualise the period?

"Fiddler on the Roof" (1971 film adaptation by Norman Jewison) was excellent, do you know of any more?

If the term "Buddhism" is a modern English one, how exactly were the divisions between Buddhist schools considered historically in their areas of origin? Would someone in Theravada have considered someone in chan or pure land to be fundamentally the same religion, but not Hindus and Taoists?

Were some other languages translations of Buddha so different that they considered them different religions when visiting even if they were not that different? How did they view the distinctions and similarities between different buddhism types, and relations to Taosim, confucianism, Hinduism, Shinto, and Jainism? To what degree did they believe being multiple of those religions at the same time was actually correct? Was it something they considered accurate, or merely an idle mistake that laypeople made that a monk would know not to. (Any time period before modern day.)

How did pizza become so widely popular in the United States

And when? From what I understand it became popular sometime before WWII and never really stopped, although it seems to have been first sold as "Pizza Pie", and dropped the "pie" at some indeterminate point?

Somewhere during the period of 900-1400AD, what would the interior of a commoners home be like?

What would the interior consist of? Single small room or maybe a large open space?

What would the inside be lit by? Open windows? Candles?

Would there be livestock inside or nearby?

Washroom facilities if any? How clean would the occupants typically be?

A lot of questions I know, but the commoners life seems so fascinating to me. Cheers!

Why would one Native American tribe go to war with another?

Although many of the motivations of Native American First Nations would be similar to our more familiar concepts of war, like the need for expansion and the want of more land, I am not quite sure why any of the Native American [against other Native Americans] wars actually happened.

What are some examples of why one tribe in the US, at any time in the Native American growth before colonisation by Europeans, would go to war against another tribe? Why'd they do it?

If a king marries a bastards mother, is he legitimized?

I was curious, if a king sires a bastard but then his wife dies and he marries the mother, is the bastard still considered a bastard?

If he doesn't have the child legitimized or even acknowledged, does that change without him saying anything?

I'm assuming France, England or the Holy Roman Empire but I'm open to other areas as well.

Repost because this was ignored last time.

How likely is it that there were open battles between US and USSR forces between the beginning of the cold war and now that we don't know about?

I'm not necessarily talking about huge battles like D-Day or something like that. I was thinking small scale engagements between special operations teams and the like.

Why after WW2 were German tanks never used again?

I was wondering this after thinking about the huge success some Soviet, American and British tanks had during and after the war, the T-34 or example, I was thinking why did for example the Panther which was by most accounts better than the T34 have its life ended with the end of the war where as the T34 thrives even today?

What were the physical contents of a royal treasury in the medieval era?

I visited Chateau de Vincennes near Paris when I was on vacation, and one of the rooms was used as the treasury for when Charles V of France resided there. The information on the room said Charles kept something like 1/3 of all moveable royal wealth in that room.

Now with that said, I was struck by how utterly small this room was, probably the size of a small walk-in closet. Plus I figure that this room likely wasn't filled chest high a la Scrooge McDuck's money bin. So with that in mind, it puzzled me as to what the physical contents of the treasury were.

Can anyone shed some light on this subject? What was the physicality of the royal treasury? What items were in it?

Why was the US capital shifted from Philadelphia to Washington, D.C.?

I became randomly interested in this question and have been unsatisfied with the answers basic Internet research has produced. I guess I'm looking for evidence more than anything. I have heard some interesting arguments about why the capital was moved, for example, Washington, who played arguably the biggest role in relocation was adamant about the shift. But I want to know why the capital was moved from an iconic, economically stable, powerhouse of a city to a swampy marsh area that was yet undeveloped. It seems unintuitive to me and I want to know what some of the reasoning must have been.

Well I ask a few questions here, for one, since when and how did the birth of Christ become a historical point of reference (200,000 BC, etc)? And has there ever been another civilization that's used another system or point of reference?

EDIT: Slight grammar error in title, "been used.

How much if any of the American War of Independence fought on European soil?

Since the fledgling US found allies in the French, Spanish, and Dutch, all of whom are neighbors to Great Britain, was there any conflict in Europe between them? I am aware of some naval battles in the area (John Paul Jones), but only with Americans against the Crown.
