Had a two college courses. One was History and one was Religion. One teacher said the Vatican supported Germany the other said they did not.... Which one is right?

Once upon a time (about 20 years ago), a friend of mine told me that there was a town or family of people, in England or maybe Scotland, who somehow possessed immunity to bubonic plague, and these people were used to collect the dead.

I'm not sure how you could be immune to a bacteria.

Is there any truth to what he told me? If so, is there a book or article you could recommend for further reading.

There are various archeological sites in North America that have been dated to around 18 thousand years ago (kya) to 12kya, while there are several roughly contemporaneous sites in South America as well. Examples of these sites can be the Folsom and Clovis sites in what is now Texas, and the Monte Verde site in what is Southern Chile. Expansion, especially to such a degree, is usually explained by some geological, ecological, or sociological context. But, considering the relatively low population in North and South America at the time, and the overwhelming prevalence of flora and fauna, even mega-fauna, for hunting, the likelihood that societies could be driven farther south due to resource scarcity seems slim at best. Therefore, what drove such a far expansion to the south? Did the prevalence of resources provide an excess in which exploration could be considered a worthwhile use of the cultures time and effort, or was necessity the driving factor?

;tldr; I can't think of any reasons for such a dramatic expansion south that there seems to have been? Was it due to resource scarcity, or just sheer curiosity?

I've been so intrigued by this little mystery of mine that has bothered me to this day. How does our actual history and the history written in the bible correlate with each other? I mean, does the events in the Bible really happened in real history? Overall, I am asking about how our REAL history work, since from the beginning, if you say the Creation is still a mystery and a debatable topic, then fine, lets throw that one out of the question, but what about the events that happened RIGHT AFTER that, the ones we have written in history. How did the civilization work? First of all, i studied quite a bit of World History and I know about the different ages, like the Stone Age, Ice Age, etc. If those ages really happened, then when in the bible those times happened? If you just get what I am trying to ask and get into, written history and bible, differences of it. I hope you get the picture. Im just honestly confused right now so please don't mind my mixed questions, but it all pertains to the main question/idea I amazing trying to ask.

Obviously some titles like general are old as dirt but what about the ranks used by the US army or marines? Where do terms like liuetenant, corporal, private, major, and sergeant come from? Moreover how do rankings evolve over time? For instance I know he British use the rank leftenant in their armed forces but the US doesn't, where do all of these rankings come from?

I imagine the jump from crude drawings and grainy nudes to actual sex would be so huge that it would completely throw people off. Was there anything in between?

I'm in the midst of my 3rd week of my first history course and all the references I have to teach me Turabian are just confusing me. What helped you guys get a good understanding of how to use it?
